Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of Argus – Hidden Camera Detector (“Argus”, “the App”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. License
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms and the app store’s terms.
2. What the App does
The App helps you look for potential hidden cameras or surveillance devices using your phone’s available sensors — camera (reflection/IR glint analysis), Bluetooth scanning, Wi-Fi/network scanning, and the magnetometer.
3. Subscriptions, billing and cancellation
Some features require a paid subscription. The following terms apply to auto-renewable subscriptions:
- Plans: the App offers auto-renewable subscriptions (for example, weekly and yearly), which may include a free trial. The exact title, duration, and price are shown in the App at the point of purchase before you confirm.
- Payment: payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account upon confirmation of purchase.
- Auto-renewal: the subscription automatically renews for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal at the then-current price within 24 hours before the end of the current period. If the price changes, the app store will notify you and, where required, ask for your consent before the new price applies.
- Managing & cancelling: you can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription.
- Free trial: if you choose a plan with a free trial, any unused portion of the trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.
- Restore: you can restore an active subscription from the App’s Settings screen.
- Refunds: purchases are handled by Apple or Google, and refunds are subject to their policies. We cannot directly issue refunds for app store purchases.
Your use of the App is also subject to the Apple Standard End User License Agreement (EULA) on iOS, and to Google Play’s terms on Android, in addition to these Terms. See also our Privacy Policy.
4. Disclaimer — no guarantee of detection
The App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Detection relies on phone sensors and heuristics and is not guaranteed to be accurate or complete. The App may miss devices or report false positives, and it is not a substitute for a professional security inspection. Do not rely on the App as your sole means of ensuring privacy or safety.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App, including any reliance on detection results.
6. Acceptable use
You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws. You must not use the App to violate others’ privacy or rights, or for any unlawful, harassing, or malicious purpose. You are solely responsible for ensuring your use is legal in your jurisdiction.
7. Intellectual property
The App, including its content, design, and trademarks, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by applicable laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding.
8. Changes to the App and these Terms
We may modify or discontinue features of the App, and we may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be published on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of your country of residence, except where a specific jurisdiction is required by the applicable app store agreement.
